CLT20 2010 Final: Chennai Super Kings beat Warriors to win CLT20
Sep 26, 2010
The Chennai Super Kings beat the Warriors in the final of the Champions League T20 on Sunday. With this, the Super Kings became the second team after the New South Wales Blues to win the tournament.
The Warriors batted first and were off to a quick start before the loss of Ashwell Prince and captain and in-form Davy Jacobs hit the side hard. From 39/0 in four overs, the side continued with its slide downwards and were 82/5 in the 14th over at one stage.
In reply, chasing a low score of 129, CSK started off sensibly and the openers shared 103 runs for the first wicket. Both Vijay and Hussey scored half century. Vijay’s 53-ball innings was studded with six fours and two sixes while Hussey hit only three fours from 46 balls in his unbeaten knock.
Vijay was declared the man of the match while Ashwin was the man of the series.

South Africa to host Champions League
April 25, 2010
South Africa will host the next Champions League Twenty20, to run from September 10 to 26, the tournament's organisers have announced. The tournament chairman Lalit Modi confirmed the decision, following a board meeting in Mumbai where it was formally agreed to accept Cricket South Africa's invitation to stage the event.
The tournament will feature 10 domestic Twenty20 sides from India, Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, the West Indies and South Africa. The tournament consists of 23 matches, and is divided into a group stage and a knockout stage. If a match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played to determine the winner.
The group stage has the teams divided into two equal groups, with each playing a round-robin tournament. The top two teams of each group advances to the advance to the knockout stage. The knockout stage consists of two semi-finals, with the top team of one group facing the second from the other. The winners of the semi-finals play the grand final to determine the winner of the competition.
